The design for this tower originally called for an 88-story concrete structure that would reach a height of 1,047 ft. with a gross construction area of approximately 1.3 million square feet. In April of 2008, the construction stopped at the 25th floor of the tower. A series of alternatives were developed in response to market conditions, which proposed accommodation of 300 apartments to be integrated with existing building. The final scheme leveraged the actuality of existing condition to create a unique juxtaposition of old and new.
